Welcome to Haley Writes, the fictional writings website of me, Haley. I previously had this site hosted at LiveJournal.com, but after the “Strikeout” of 2007, I decided to put my writings somewhere where no one could censor them besides myself. My writings are mostly fan fiction or original fiction. I have been writing fan fiction for about five or six years, and enjoy it greatly. I have many friends who also enjoy writing and reading fan fiction and original fiction, so I figured I would share my writings with others.
Due to the content of this journal, as well as personal reasons, I have decided to keep most of the entries of this “blog” private. Meaning, you will need a password to view them. I feel this is the best way to keep prying eyes I do not like from seeing my original works, and I know exactly who is seeing my work.

About the Writer
I have been writing for quite a few years. I started writing as a hobby around the years 1999-2000. I started with original works of fiction, mostly fantasy, and even threw in some very awful poetry here and there. I wrote mostly for school projects, but would continue my stories out of class at home, and it thus grew into quite an obsession.
I started reading and writing “fan fiction”, or fictional works based on a particular game/book/person/whatever (ie: fandom), early in life. It was probably about 1997 when I was first introduced to fan fiction, and I indulged in stories about my favorite bands. I didn’t start writing fan fic, though, until about 2001. I first wrote fan fic about the game Final Fantasy VIII, and I still continue to do so to this day. When i read the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit in 2001, I also started writing about those. As I found more interests, I found more topics to write on, and have thus gained quite a feel for my fandoms.
I do not really write much “original” fiction, or stories completely of my own creation. I have a lot of trouble sitting down and creating a plot, so thus, I prefer to “drabble” or write small sections of a story. When I challenged myself to do National Novel Writing Month in 2006, I failed miserable because I just cannot think straight in terms of plots. So, most of the stories in this blog are not related. They do go in chronological order, for the most part, so if you read from early to later, you will get a sense of a story.
I love writing. I am not the best writer (that’s my sister), but I enjoy writing a great deal. I hope to spread my love of writing through this archive, and hopefully get some other people turned on to writing more as a hobby, and not just for a grade.
